If you've found your way here, there's a fair chance you already know a little about The SKBs. You may have heard one of our songs, discovered us on social media, found us through a streaming platform, or simply been exploring new independent music.

We're glad you've found us.

This blog is a place for the stories behind the music. Alongside updates on new releases, recordings and projects, we'll be sharing some of the experiences, influences and memories that help shape our songs.

The SKBs began as a bucket-list idea from songwriter Al Sharp and gradually evolved into a collective of musicians, singers and friends working together to create original music. Drawing inspiration from classic rock, country, Americana and melodic pop, our songs are built around storytelling, memorable melodies and a genuine love of making music.

Through this blog, we'll write about songwriting, recording sessions, album releases, musical influences, and the creative process behind our music. We'll also be sharing stories from the past - favourite records, memorable gigs, old venues and the artists who inspired us along the way.

Many of us grew up surrounded by vinyl records, cassette tapes, Top of the Pops and live music. Those experiences continue to influence what we do today, and from time to time, we'll look back at some of the music, moments, and memories that still stay with us.

Most of all, this blog gives us a chance to connect with listeners in a more personal way.

Social media is great for quick updates, but sometimes a story deserves a little more space. Here, we can share the journey behind the songs, introduce the people involved and give a deeper insight into what makes The SKBs what it is.
